Who We Are

Michael is the Managing Director of Bagborough Accountancy, which he founded in 2014.

He is a fully qualified Chartered Accountant and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.

Michael trained with a large firm of Accountants in London, before moving into industry.

He has been Financial Director of several medium sized and large owner managed businesses. He has been involved in the successful setting up, funding, organic and acquisition growth and sale of many businesses and has enjoyed dealing calmly with the challenges and finding the optimum solutions.

Michael also has over 10 years’ experience as a Forensic Accountant having gained in depth

experience working for the Metropolitan Police, the Serious Fraud Office and several private clients.

Michael was born in Taunton. He has a BA degree in Geography and is fascinated with local history and the geography of the Southwest. He and his wife can often be seen exploring the Quantocks with their Labrador.

Dominic is a fully qualified Chartered Accountant and a Member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. He has extensive experience working as a Financial Director for small/ medium sized owner managed companies

How Dominic can help:

• To provide oversight, training and direction to existing staff involved in the preparing and reporting of management information
• To improve cashflow management
• To improve the financial control environment of the accounting procedures to mitigate the risks of fraud, error and theft
• To assess existing accounting systems including stock management ( key for a manufacturing business )
• To work with the senior management team and help them to deliver on the strategic direction of the owners, budget controls, accountability, milestones, measure performance
• As a portfolio FD I typically work on an interim/part time basis from as little as 1 day a month to 3 days a week.  Having completed an interim role end of July, I currently have good availability.

Dominic has a BSc degree in Geography. He has two teenage daughters who keep him and his wife busy and entertained.

Phil is our very experienced bookkeeper, specialising in Xero.

He is adept at designing and developing Management Accounts reportage, tailored to clients’ bespoke requirements. Focusing on accurate, timely accounting records and management information, Phil works closely with our clients ensuring they have the information to make their informed business decisions.

Phil also has overall responsibilities for our clients’ payrolls.

Phil has a BA degree in Classics and History and a MA in Maritime History. It is not a surprise that he lives near the coast. In his leisure time Phil, his wife and two dogs are regularly on adventures in their camper van exploring the countryside.

Tim has a BSc in Geography and Environmental Studies and is passionate in developing public awareness of the need to reduce carbon emissions and reduce the use of plastic.

Tim is also the owner of My Carbon Coach, based in Taunton, which Bagborough Accountancy proudly supports.

Steve has a wealth of experience, gained as a senior Financial Wealth Managemenent Adviser prior to developing his specialisation as a Will Adviser and Estate Planner.

Steve is very experienced in preparing, reviewing and updating Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney and giving professional advice with Estate Planning.

Steve’s key objective is to help people ensure that their hard earned wealth passes tax efficiently according to their wishes rather than to unintended others.

His calm, empathic manner and his in-depth knowledge and technical skills

have been appreciated by many of our clients.

Steve was born and raised in Taunton and is well connected throughout the Southwest, having built up and exceptional reputation for his high quality, reliable and friendly professional service.
